HAITI
Haiti is a Caribbean nation situated on the western portion of the island of Hispaniola. Haiti's rich cultural heritage, characterized by vibrant music, art, and history, stands in stark contrast to the numerous hardships the country faces. Persistent challenges include extreme poverty, political instability, natural disasters, and limited access to healthcare and education. HEART remains dedicated to alleviating these pressing issues in Haiti and offering hope to its resilient population.
TABARRE CHRISTIAN ACADEMY
Tabarre Christian Academy is a Pre-K - 9th school in the Tabarre area of Port-au-Prince. Students learn English, math, science, history, social studies, Creole, French, and the Bible. The smaller children learn socialization skills and enjoy hands-on learning experiences like "Fruit Day."
HEART's focus at Tabarre is funding teacher salaries. The greatest barrier to education in the area is finding qualified teachers who will commit to teaching. HEART and TCA strive to ensure our teachers receive fair compensation that allows them to care for their own families and needs. This in turn, benefits the children, local families, and the Tabarre area.
